American Speech Training vs. American English Training

Both American speech training and American English training aim to improve communication, but they focus on different layers of language.
American English training is about learning the language itself. It focuses on:
grammar and sentence structure
vocabulary and idiomatic usage
reading, writing, and comprehension
learning what to say
American speech training, by contrast, focuses on how speech is physically produced and delivered. It works with:
pronunciation and sound production
articulation, rhythm, and intonation
physical coordination of speech
learning how speech is delivered
Because of that difference, speech training isn’t about memorizing rules or learning new vocabulary. It’s not basic English instruction. Most people who benefit from American speech training already speak English fluently. What they want is greater clarity, confidence, or ease when they speak.
Choosing between the two comes down to your goal. If you’re still learning English, language instruction may be the right place to start. If you already speak English and want to refine how you’re understood—or how you sound in professional or public settings—speech training may be the better fit.
At American Speech Lab, our focus is on helping fluent English speakers improve how their speech works day to day. We don’t teach English—we help you use the English you already know with greater clarity, ease, and control, so your voice supports your goals rather than getting in the way.
